Airport Information

Grantley Adams International Airport
Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) is a 45-minute drive (20 miles / 32 kilometers) from The Fairmont Royal Pavilion. The airport caters for most major international airlines.

Transportation from the Airport to the Hotel

Bus
There is a regular bus service departing every ten minutes from the airport to the city. Travel time by bus is approximately 45 minutes. The journey should cost BBD 1.50.

Taxi
There is 24-hour taxi service readily available at the airport. Travel time via taxi is approximately 45 minutes. The journey should cost approximately BBD 25.00 to BBD 30.00.

Limousine
A limousine costs approximately USD 140.00 one way between the hotel and the airport. A limousine can be arranged by the hotel with prior notice.

Transfers
The hotel can arrange private transfer by car for approximately USD 70.00 one way. Advance notice is required.

Car and Limousine Rental
Anything from a Mini Moke to a limousine may be rented. Cars may be rented by the hour, day, or week. You should make advance reservations for a rental car through the Concierge or In-House Reservations.

Driving in Barbados
If you plan to drive a car, a Barbados driver's permit is required. Permits can be obtained from car hire companies, the Ministry of Transport, the airport, or police stations in Hastings, Worthing, and Holetown. There is a registration fee of BBD 10.00 and a valid national license or an International Driving Permit is also required.

Cruise Ship Terminal
The terminal is located in Bridgetown, a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Bridgetown has an international deep-water harbor and is a port of call for a number of British, European, and American cruise lines. A taxi to the terminal should cost BBD 35.00 (approximately USD 18.00).

Local Transportation

Bus
Buses offer a frequent, comprehensive coverage of the island and all buses terminate at Bridgetown. The cost is BBD 1.50 for all journeys.

Taxi
Taxis do not have meters, but fares are regulated by the government. Listings are available from the Tourist Office. Please ask about the price before traveling.

• Holetown (shopping area) - 0.5 mile / 0.8 km - 5 minutes
