The Fairmont Algonquin

SPECIAL EVENTS

Hold a special event at The Fairmont Algonquin, a beautiful seaside resort hotel in the quaint town of St Andrews-by-the-Sea. A place to rest and relax next to the scenic beauty of the Atlantic coast, The Fairmont Algonquin is an ideal venue for a function of any size.

Themed Events

Maritime Night
Set on Katy's Cove, a private beach a short walk from The Fairmont Algonquin, Maritime Night features a seaside atmosphere, with calm waters, lobster traps, boiling kettles, buoys, bonfire area, and picnic tables decked out in checkered tablecloths. Guests will be warmly greeted at their own private beach and, if desired, presented with their own authentically styled sou'wester hat to wear for the evening and to keep as a souvenir.

Kitchen Ceilidh
When the tradition of the Kitchen Ceilidh began in New Brunswick more than 200 years ago, neighbors would gather with a fiddle and songs passed down from their fathers. Add a jig and a story and the result was an evening of fun and friendship. Downeast Entertainment has created an event for you that has not changed much from the original. We have made the kitchen larger, invited a few more friends, and are ready to welcome your guests. The warmth and spirit of the entertainment is as exciting and inviting as ever.

The Magical Mystery Tour
Steeped in history, The Fairmont Algonquin and town of St Andrews is an appropriate setting for this evening of mystery, intrigue, and romance. We have combined many of the characters associated with The Fairmont Algonquin and the town in a suspenseful evening that combines magic and murder mystery. The clues to the guilty party are created with magic and illusion, so you will have to have your wits about you to distinguish what is real and what is deception. Join us for this fun-filled night and allow your imagination and intelligence to be challenged.

Rum Runners Casino Night
If the history books are correct, St Andrews was one of the prime locations for the famous maritime "rum runners," who shipped hundreds of thousands of kegs of rum to the US from its shores across the Bay of Fundy. We have taken a few of the characters, combined a speakeasy theme set in the 1930s, and added blackjack tables, roulette wheels, and crap games to create an evening of fun, music, and games. Cameo appearances include actors playing Elliot Ness and the Untouchables, and the Madame of the House.
